Archival Photographic Printing

Hank’s is a full-service photographic lab dedicated to the production, preservation, and presentation of photographic work. For decades, photographers have relied on our lab to produce exhibition-quality prints and manage important photographic collections.

Combining traditional darkroom craftsmanship with modern imaging technology, our facility supports a wide range of photographic processes—from gelatin silver printing from original negatives to high-resolution digital printing and archival digitization.

Each project is approached individually. Materials, processes, and techniques are selected based on the specific requirements of the image, ensuring that the final print reflects the artist’s intent while meeting the highest archival standards

The Lab

Work begins with a careful evaluation of the original material, whether film negatives, photographic prints, or digital files. From there, we collaborate with photographers, galleries, and institutions to determine the most appropriate printing process and materials.

Hank’s integrates traditional darkrooms with a custom-built automated processing system, allowing for a wide range of photographic papers, chemistries, and workflows. This flexibility enables precise control over tone, surface, and scale.

Prints range from small-format works at 5 × 7 inches to large-scale prints measuring 55 × 90 inches on a single sheet, as well as larger spliced prints exceeding 8 × 10 feet.
