Archival Mounting

Proper mounting provides stability and protection for photographic prints while preparing them for exhibition, framing, or long-term storage. All mounting is performed using  conservation-tested materials and techniques designed to preserve the integrity of the print.

Dry Mounting

Dry mounting permanently bonds a photographic print to a rigid backing board using heat-activated archival adhesives. This process produces a flat print surface and is commonly used for exhibition prints and presentation work. This method allows fiber prints the flexibility they need when dealing with changes in humidity and temperature.

Cold Mounting

Cold mounting uses pressure-sensitive archival adhesives to attach prints to a backing board without the use of heat. This method is often preferred when working with materials that may be sensitive to temperature, or when a less invasive mounting approach is desired, like adhering four-ply mat board to a more rigid surface.

Cold mounting provides a stable and professional presentation while maintaining greater flexibility for certain types of mounts.
